Located in the a central area of the historic market town of Pickering, North Yorkshire. Iris Cottage is a, dog friendly, cosy property with plenty to offer guests. Sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms, Iris Cottage is the perfect location for families and groups of friends to head to when looking for a getaway with lots to do on your doorstep.
Accommodation
Iris Cottage has a cosy and homely living room. With wooden roof beams, a comfy sofa, two matching armchairs and a flat-screen TV. The living room is a truly relaxing space to retreat to after a busy day exploring all that Pickering and the surrounding area has to offer.
The property’s kitchen is full of character. With green wooden cupboards and drawers, the room is given a traditional, yet stylish look. It also has all the modern appliances you need to make the most of your self-catering stay with a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, kettle, oven and hobs.
Head to either of the two bedrooms and you’ll find tranquil spaces. There is a king size bedroom, as well as super king. This bed can be split to form two singles, making Iris Cottage ideal for families staying with children. This will need to be requested prior to your stay. All beds are made up using plush bedding and premium bed linens to ensure that you have the best night’s sleep possible.
Both bedrooms are also en-suite. One has a bathtub, separate shower, WC, and wash basin, whilst the other en-suite boasts a shower, basin and WC.
There is a small enclosed outside space at Iris Cottage. It has a bistro set which guests are welcome to use during their stay.
Explore the local area
Iris Cottage is perfectly located in the market town of Pickering. The thriving town has plenty of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars so you won’t tire of things to do. Explore Pickering Castle which is packed with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Enjoy a walk on the iconic Cleveland Way, or head to Dalby Forest where you can explore the gentle woodland trails. Prefer to push yourself to the extreme? Go Ape Adventure Centre is for you!
From the beautiful North York Moors, to the expansive Great Yorkshire Forest and finally the delightful North Yorkshire coast, Pickering is ideally situated where you can experience everything the county has to offer.
Pickering has great bus routes with journeys to York, Malton, Thirsk, Helmsley, Whitby, Scarborough and Leeds.
The nearest mainline railway station can be found 8 miles away in Malton with routes to Scarborough, Manchester and Liverpool amongst others.
The Old Pottery is located just a short 10-minute walk to Pickering rail station where you can experience the infamous North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The station is a must see with a 1930s theme, so you’ll be transported back in time to the steam era. From here, you can travel to popular destinations such as Whitby, Grosmont and Goathland.

- 1 well behaved dog allowed and will usually accept 2 dogs if a guest requests it. For larger properties and small breeds of dogs, 3 dogs may be allowed on request dependent on the property / size of dogs.
- Dogs stay FREE
- No restrictions on dog sizes
- Dogs are not permitted to be left unattended in the property
- Guests should pick up after their dog and not leave any mess in any of the property or surrounding public areas. Muddy / sandy paws should be wiped before entering the building
- Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. If the property has multiple floors, dogs should be kept downstairs
- If the property has a bathtub, dogs are not allowed in the bath tub as their claws can cause damage
- 25% deposit upon booking and the remaining balance is due 60 days prior to arrival.
- If you make your booking within 60 days of arrival, full payment will be take upon booking.
- If you cancel more than 60 days prior to arrival, any funds taken will be refunded in full.
- Should you cancel between 60 days and 30 days of your arrival date, you will be liable for 50% of the full booking value.
- Cancellations inside 30 days are non-refundable.
- No security deposit taken however when your booking is confirmed, you will be asked to verify using the accommodation providers verification partner called ‘Superhog’. This is a free service and covers owners for any accidental damage. You will receive a link to Superhog within your booking confirmation email and the lead guest simply verifies using ID.
- A £25 management fee and a cleaning fee is in addition to the accommodation rate. This will be sent to you with your holiday quote.
